MHawthorn Hawks
Ankle
September 22, 2021
Downie underwent surgery for an ankle syndesmosis injury suffered in the final training session of Hawthorn's season.

September 22, 2021
Koschitzke is recovering from shoulder surgery in the offseason.
ANALYSIS
Koschitzke injured his shoulder in the final match of the season. Physical performance manager Luke Boyd said the 21-year-old forward is progressing well in his recovery, which bodes well for his status to begin the 2022 season.

FFree Agent
Hamstring
September 16, 2021
Hutchesson (hamstring) won't be offered a contract from the Giants for the 2022 season.
ANALYSIS

Laitham Vandermeer

DWestern Bulldogs
Hamstring
September 11, 2021
Vandermeer suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's Preliminary Final win over Port Adelaide, according to the AFL.com match report.
ANALYSIS

Steven May
Picks up hamstring injury
DMelbourne Demons
Hamstring
September 10, 2021
May subbed out in the third quarter of Friday's Preliminary Final win over Geelong due to hamstring tightness, according to coach Simon Goodwin. "We'll assess that over the next few days, but we're quietly confident that he'll be okay. It is back-related type of tightness in his hamstring, so we'll have to assess that and see what it looks like over the next few days."
ANALYSIS
May has plenty of time to return after Melbourne's advancement to the Grand Final, so he'll hope his injury remains a minor one. Though his value hasn't been great recently, he has something to offer if he's able to log 20 disposals if he returns this season.
Sam Simpson
Out of Friday's game
MGeelong Cats
Concussion
September 9, 2021
Simpson (concussion) will not play Friday versus Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
Simpson was withdrawn from the lineup just hours before the preliminary finals match. Quinton Narkle entered the lineup as an emergency, but it's unclear if he'll be named in the 22 for the match. Should the Cats win Friday, Simpson should have at least a chance to be available for the Grand Final.
Alex Keath
Will miss Prelim Final
DWestern Bulldogs
Hamstring
September 9, 2021
Keath will miss Saturday's Preliminary Final against Port Adelaide due to hamstring tightness.
ANALYSIS
Keath doesn't add much fantasy value with an average of 12 disposals per game but he's still an absence in what will be a tough game. With any luck, he'll get another chance to play if the 'Dogs stay alive in the finals.
Joel Smith
Out for Prelim Final
DMelbourne Demons
Hamstring
September 9, 2021
Smith (hamstring) will miss Friday's Preliminary Final.
ANALYSIS
Smith has only played three times all season and managed to pick up a hamstring issue in training just before this game. His absence shouldn't change much for one of the healthiest teams in the league and he'll hope the Dees survive another round so he has a chance to get back before the end of the season.

FPort Adelaide Power

Brandan Parfitt

MGeelong Cats
Hamstring
September 7, 2021
Parfitt will miss the rest of the finals after suffering a high-grade tear of his left hamstring, his club announced Monday. He's expected to be ready in time for the preseason.
ANALYSIS
Parfitt went down early into the semi-final win over GWS but he won't play a further part in the end of the campaign. Fortunately, the Cats haven't dealt with many long-term injuries this season, though the timing is poor on this one. With 18.8 disposals and 5.6 tackles per game in 2021, Parfitt has plenty to offer on his day.

Marcus Bontempelli
Hurts knee in win
MWestern Bulldogs
Knee
September 4, 2021
Bontempelli suffered a knee injury and logged 29 disposals (16 kicks, 13 handballs) to go with seven marks made during Saturday's 79-78 win over Brisbane.
ANALYSIS
Bontempelli is usually one of the top disposal-getters for his club and that usually doesn't change even with an injury. His all-around performances haven't been as stellar as they were earlier in the season, and an injury won't help things out over the rest of the finals.
Cody Weightman
Suffers concussion in win
FWestern Bulldogs
Concussion
September 4, 2021
Weightman suffered a concussion during Saturday's 79-78 win over Brisbane, according to Michael Whiting of AFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Weightman was a casualty of a tightly-contested match but he still managed to contribute one goal and one behind. He should be able to return for the Grand Final at the least if Western advance that far.
Tom Hawkins
Game-breaker in win
FGeelong Cats
Quadriceps
September 4, 2021
Hawkins scored five goals and one behind to go with eight marks made and suffered a corked quad during Friday's 103-68 win over GWS, according to Nathan Schmook of AFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Hawkins was the key to another successful game in the finals as the Cats now have another tough matchup with Melbourne. He's scored at least three goals in three of the last four games and will be a good player to watch if he's fit over the rest of the season.
Brandan Parfitt
Hurts hamstring in win
MGeelong Cats
Hamstring
September 4, 2021
Parfitt suffered a left hamstring injury during Friday's semi-final win over GWS, according to Nathan Schmook of AFL.com.
ANALYSIS
Parfitt had logged at least 20 disposals in three of his last four starts before departing early against the Giants. He'll need to be hopeful of continued advancement in the postseason, as a minor issue could put him out for at least one game.
Hayden Crozier
Still out for semi-final
DWestern Bulldogs
Concussion
September 2, 2021
Crozier (concussion) is not in the lineup for Saturday's semi-final versus the Lions.
ANALYSIS
Crozier hasn't appeared in an AFL match since July 17 and doesn't seem likely to do so during the Bulldogs' Finals run either. He did have a few solid fantasy showings when available but seems unlikely to make the lineup even if he's healthy.
Callum Ah Chee
Listed as emergency
MBrisbane Lions
Groin
September 2, 2021
Ah Chee (groin) is listed as an emergency for Saturday's semi-final versus the Bulldogs.
ANALYSIS
Ah Chee doesn't seem likely to take the field unless things go south for some of the other Lions ahead of the match. The fact that he's listed as an emergency could bode well for his chances of returning next round, should they advance.
Adam Kennedy
Still unavailable
DGreater Western Sydney Giants
Hamstring
September 2, 2021
ANALYSIS
Kennedy was considered a test for the match after suffering a hamstring injury in training last week but was unable to get right in time to make it back into action. He'll look to make it back in time for next week should the Giants move on.
