DFS College Basketball: Sunday Preview

DFS College Basketball: Sunday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

While NFL dominates the action Sundays, there's a still a $2k top prize in the main DraftKings slate, which features four games following the cancellation of Baylor/Texas. Let's take a look at the totals and then jump right in.

Targets

1. Hunter Dickinson, F, Michigan ($6,700 DK)

Dickinson has came off the bench in all five games this season, but he's leading the entire seven-man rotation in usage rate. Austin Davis has been the starter despite averaging only 12.6 mpg, but he's now sidelined indefinitely with a lower leg injury suffered Wednesday. This leaves the door open for Dickinson to start, and with Michigan owning the day's highest implied point total, the freshman just may be in for a career day.

3. Qudus Wahab, F, Georgetown ($5,500 DK, $5,400 FD)

Wahab has been relatively steady this year even in tough matchups, but now gets a huge pace boost against St. John's. Georgetown has the second-highest implied total on the slate, while Wahab is second on the team in usage rate. He'll also have a slight height advantage over anyone the Red Storm use to guard him.

3. Myreon Jones, G, Penn State ($6,000 DK)

Sporting a usage rate of 27.2 percent and with minutes consistently in the upper-20s, Jones seems like an excellent middle-tier option in the second-highest over/under game of the slate. He should be safe for cash games, at least, hitting 4x in each of his last three games, all of which have been against respectable competition. Jones has also gotten off 10 or more shots in each game this season.

Fades

1. Julian Champagnie, F, St. John's ($8,900 DK, $8,000 FD)

Fully acknowledge this one might come back to bite me, given Champagnie has been on fire and this is the highest over/under of the game. What gives me pause is past performance. He was injured the first time he played Georgetown last season, then had performances of 33.5 and 17.5 DK points. He's missed 4x at this price twice this season, so while a little exposure for mass entry is fine (and encouraged), in my eyes he's far from a sure thing.

2. Matt Bradley, G, California ($7,800 DK)

It's rare to see such a ball-dominant guard, as Bradley's usage rate checks in at an astounding 35.2 percent. What scares me off here is Vegas pegging Cal as the lowest implied total of the entire main slate. Remember, this is a San Francisco team that held Virginia to 60 points in an upset victory, forcing Tony Bennett to re-think his entire starting lineup.

3. Oscar da Silva, F, Stanford ($7,200 DK, $7,600 FD)

It's tough to fade anyone coming off a 50-point DK performance, but da Silva was underwhelming when faced with tougher competition in the three prior games. He now has to go up against USC's twin towers in Evan Mobley (7-0) and Isaiah Mobley (6-10), which leaves the door open for foul trouble, and potentially a floor game.
