Spot on top line secure?
Amadio has racked up two goals and five points through three games since being promoted to Vegas' top line.
ANALYSIS
Amadio, who has often been a healthy scratch this season, has taken the opportunity to skate on the first line and run with it over the past three contests, suggesting he could hold onto that spot in the lineup even when players like Jack Eichel, who's sidelined with a lower-body injury, and Jonathan Marchessault, who's also dealing with a lower-body issue, are ready to return. The fact that Amadio is expected to skate on the No. 1 power-play unit for a second straight game Tuesday versus LA supports that notion.

2018
The 24-year-old Amadio has seen his role on the Kings grow slowly but steadily in each of his three NHL seasons, and he even saw a semi-regular shift on the power play in 2019-20, but so far he hasn't turned the corner in his development. Despite a 50-goal, 98-point campaign in his final season in the OHL, Amadio fell to the third round of the 2014 draft due to concerns about his offensive upside, and that assessment has looked spot-on through his first 148 NHL games. He's got good size and skating ability and has more than held his own defensively and on the forecheck, but until he shows he can add a scoring spark to his profile, he'll be locked into a bottom-six role.
