Could debut this weekend
Vannett, who was dealing with a knee injury, might be eligible to play this weekend against the Seahawks on Monday, according to Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston.
ANALYSIS
Vannett suffered a knee injury during the preseason but was activated to return to practice Thursday, and this means he could be eligible to play as early as this week against Seattle. He played for the Broncos in 2020, making 14 catches for 95 yards and a touchdown across 15 games.

Vannett's first year in New Orleans was disappointing to say the least, as the tight end appeared in just seven games in 2021 and caught just nine of 15 targets for 133 yards and one touchdown. Considered more of a blocking specialist, Vannett will likely find it difficult to see much work in the passing game this season, especially since he finds himself behind Adam Trautman and Taysom Hill on the depth chart, while also battling with the likes of Juwan Johnson and Chris Herndon.
