2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gray posted nearly identical stats in 2022 and 2023, going from 28 catches for 299 receiving yards and two scrimmage touchdowns to 28 catches for 305 yards and two touchdowns. Gray played at least 47 percent of snaps in all but four games last season, but Travis Kelce got the vast majority of targets at tight end. The 2023 season opener was the only game in which Patrick Mahomes played but Kelce didn’t, and while Gray set a career high with five targets in that game, his three catches for 31 yards were nothing to write home about. Gray’s best path to fantasy relevance would be a Kelce injury, but even in that scenario, it’s unclear whether Gray has the pass catching skills to be more than a supporting piece in a Kansas City offense that beefed up its receiving corps in the offseason and added tight end Jared Wiley in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Gray finished the 2023 regular season with 28 catches for 305 yards and two touchdowns on 41 targets.
ANALYSIS
While Gray didn't take a step back this season, he didn't really leap forward offensively either, essentially matching his numbers from a season ago. Travis Kelce turns 35 in October and is likely drawing closer to the end of his career, so the Chiefs' brass may evaluate this offseason whether Gray is the future of the tight end position in KC. Gray remains on his rookie deal through the 2024 campaign and will presumably continue to contribute in two-tight end sets next season, assuming the Chiefs don't pursue a tight end in the 2024 NFL Draft. Kelce has indicated he doesn't intend to retire anytime soon and remains under contract through 2025, so Gray doesn't have a clear path to upgraded playing time next season either.

Oregon WR Troy Franklin can't be happy about falling to Day 3, but things could still work out for him in Denver, where he'll catch passes from college teammate Bo Nix.
Most of the big ADP changes can be easily explained, but there are also guys like Isiah Pacheco and Kenneth Walker dropping down the ranks for unclear reasons.
Derrick Henry will look strange in a Ravens uniform, but he could look intimidating in black and purple, too.
Elijah Mitchell has a 15th-round ADP even though he remains just one Christian McCaffrey injury away from fantasy stardom.
Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could see expanded role
Gray could see an increased role in Thursday's game against the Lions if Travis Kelce is unable to play, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Kelce suffered a hyperextended knee in Tuesday's practice, and his status is now in doubt for Thursday's season opener. Gray is one of two other healthy tight ends on the depth chart and could step into an expanded role, perhaps even if Kelce is active but limited for the game. Gray is entering his third season as a pro and has tallied 35 total receptions for 335 yards and two touchdowns across 33 games.

2021
The Chiefs selected Gray in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft, hoping to develop him into Travis Kelce's heir at the tight end position. After a quiet first season with only seven grabs for 36 yards and a score, Gray upped his production in his second pro campaign, reeling in 28 passes for 299 yards and a single score. The 24-year-old enters the coming season in a similar situation, still working in a complementary role behind Kelce. In that context, Gray is unlikely to garner much fantasy interest outside of some dynasty formats, but he could move on to the radar should Kelce miss time.
